OVERVIEW:
Seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to develop and execute strategic litigation plans. Ensures quality and timely delivery of project deliverables for internal and external clients. Must have project management experience, including process enhancement and effective modeling and evaluation. Define, enhance and standards, methodologies and tools used throughout the firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the process and responsibilities of large and complex litigation projects

Motivated to gain engagement to successfully drive and enforce project activities, key deliverables and KPI’s
-
Guide and support partners and lead associates in defining matter scope and project approach; determine staffing needs and manage workflow, while adapting to shifting priorities
-
Capture legal requirements and explicit and implicit client requirements/preferences
-
Design project approach accordingly; enforce process and project protocol
-
Organize and manage streamlined and cost-effective support model; engage and direct paralegals, litigation support, attorneys, partners and other staff on project activities
-
Propose solutions to balance expectations and manage scope throughout project delivery; guide solutions and project decisions

Compile executive summaries and status reports for attorney and client review

Draft and present status reports and provide timely updates to client team partners on potential areas for improvement; engage with key stakeholders to ensure potential issues are addressed

Organize and manage matter review process for key matters; establish practice area best practices through discussions with partners and review of successes and areas of improvement; encourage application of best practices on future projects

Identify future needs and opportunities for service delivery; lead analysis and design workshops;

Brainstorm and execute continuous improvement methods

Establish and maintain project forms and templates; oversee appropriate usage firmwide

Evaluate, monitor and report on costs and fees of ongoing large projects and assist with budget revisions, tracking and guidance

Create and maintain budget procedures for select clients; facilitate communication surrounding budget changes
REQUIREMENTS:
-
5+ years of project management experience
-
MBA or JD preferred
-
Experience leading complex litigation projects and managing a multi-disciplinary team of legal professionals and clients
-
Strong interpersonal communication skills; with the ability to engage directly with senior leadership on strategy and execute evolving projects goals firm-wide with diplomacy

Able to effectively convey solutions to cross-functional department teams

Deep understanding of legal project management framework and goal setting and achieving
-
Able to integrate and synthesize information from multiple teams and workstreams in order to analyze complex issues, mitigate risk, and solve problems

Excellent organizational, time management and decision-making skills
-
Sharp attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products

Exercise discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters

Possess highly developed organization, writing, analytical, presentation and communication skills

Knowledge of extranets or other collaborative project management tools, Visio, Excel, and financial systems and reports

The firm is noted internationally as being devoted to the resolution of complex commercial disputes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the preparation and court filing of pleadings and other court papers, as needed.

Assist with preparation for interviews, depositions, hearings, trials and/or client meetings

Proofread briefs, memoranda of law, opinions and other documents

Perform cross-reference and defined terms checks, as needed

Pull cases, shepardize briefs and assist with and coordinate cite-checking

Able to perform non-legal research using various research tools, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR and other systems

Update attorney and case/deal team binders

Able to assist partners, associates and other legal assistants across practice areas and different departments

Manage collection, review and production of client data; act as liaison with attorneys, consultants and opposing counsel

Ensure case files are complete and docketing deadlines are maintained at all times

Perform all functions required to handle in-house productions via cloud based document review Software.

Assist attorneys with gathering facts, constructing case timelines, preparing witness interview and deposition materials, and drafting privilege logs

Prepare and coordinate transmittal of case materials to experts

Assist with filings, preparation for oral arguments and hearings, and motion practice

Prepare and assist at trial; manage trial exhibits and trial software

Manage budget and provide cost analysis of file maintenance, document review and production of deposition and trial materials
REQUIREMENTS:

3 years experience as a litigation paralegal or related case management experience

Bachelor’s degree required

Proficiency in NetDocuments, Relativity, Concordance, or similar litigation records management, document review, or trial presentations software

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Excellent written communication skills

Superior planning, organizational, interpersonal and oral communication including providing group presentations

Key Responsibilities

Create and oversee exhibits for trial

Employ databases for searches and document retrieval

Conduct cite checks and case pulls using LexisNexis and/or Westlaw databases

Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery in preparation for and participation in trial

Review and analyze large volumes of data to be produced in litigation

Review documents for privilege and draft privilege logs for attorney review

Provide ongoing communication between an international network of counsel and clients to assist and expedite case settlements for the maximization of collections

Finalize, file and service briefs, motions and other filings

Prepare for trials in State and Federal Court; manage trial support

Assemble materials and files necessary for conferences, depositions or court

Skills and Experience Required

2 years of litigation paralegal experience
